Add Extensions to Multiple Files on Mac OS X

Say you have a bunch of files that you want to append .jpg to.

  1. Put the files in a folder called ‘images’ on your desktop.
  2. Open the Terminal application (it should be in /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app).
  3. Type the following and press Enter:
    cd ~/Desktop/images
  4. Type the following and press Enter:
    find . -type f -exec mv '{}' '{}'.jpg \;

Done.
