We need to use different passwords on different websites to be secure online. Remembering all of these is a problem.
The following are some potential solutions.
Free, open source software:
- KeePassX- Graphical user interface. For non-geeks.
- pass - Command line interface. For geeks.
- Write a hint about the password (not the complete password) somewhere safe and use it to remember the password in case you forget it. If you go this route, be sure to choose a secure password.
